NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR – Some North Little Rock families are on the search for a new home after their landlord sold the property on which they lived.

James Smith, the owner of Diamond Acres Mobile Home Park off Highway 165, sold the land to the North Little Rock Wastewater Utility, forcing nine tenants to have to find a new place to stay.

The company will run a line underneath the property.

One family is upset they weren’t given more than 30 days to find a new home, and says it’s been tough trying to find one.

“They see the economy and government shutdown has happened and it’s putting us in a spot. It’s hard to find a place when you don’t have money to move,” said Daniel Scruggs, a member of the family.

The owner said he notified families shortly after he made his decision.

He allowed tenants to keep the rent for October to help them with relocation.
