SEARCY, AR – Police have arrested a man suspected of repeatedly stabbing a Searcy mother while she tried to stop him from raping her 12-year-old daughter.
According to reports, authorities from the Searcy Police Department responded to an aggravated assault report at a residence around 5:30 pm on December 18. When they arrived, police found a woman who appeared to have been stabbed multiple times.
The woman, whose name has not been released, told police that she was stabbed by an unknown suspect multiple times while trying to stop him from raping her 12-year-old daughter. The suspect then raped the girl and fled the scene on foot, and the mother and daughter went to a neighbor’s house to call 911.
Searcy Police have identified 29-year-old Aaron Ray Rash as the suspect and arrested him around 4:00pm Wednesday after receiving a tip about a suspicious person in the area. Police say Rash, a level 3 sex offender, was arrested without incident in the area of south Booth road in Searcy.
