WHITE COUNTY, AR – A White County man has been arrested for kidnapping after leading authorities on a chase.

According to reports, around 8:30 pm on December 17, deputies with the White County Sheriff’s Office were called to Foxchase Road, in regards to a domestic disturbance. When they arrived, deputies were informed that the suspect, later identified as 22-year-old Deonte Turner of Searcy, had forced a female victim into a brown Jeep at gunpoint and left the area.

Deputies were able to find Turner’s vehicle and attempted to stop it. Turner led deputies through several Searcy streets and residential lawns. Turner eventually exited the vehicle, while it was still in motion, near the intersection of College Street and Park Street. After a brief foot pursuit, deputies found Turner lying in tall grass.

Turner was arrested and charged with kidnapping, felony fleeing, possession of a firearm by certain persons, possession of a controlled substance, simultaneous possession of a firearm and domestic battery. Turner is being held at the White County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.
