14-Year-Old Arrested After Bringing Handgun to LR School

LITTLE ROCK, AR – A Little Rock middle school student has been charged with carrying a handgun on school property after police discovered one in his possession.

On Friday morning, a LR Police officer was working at Mann Middle School when he was notified that a student was in possession of a handgun.

According to a report, the officer pulled the 14-year-old out of class and searched him to find the unloaded gun the pocket of his shorts.

The student told police he had brought the gun to show his friends. He was then arrested and taken to the juvenile detention center.

Police say no students or staff were threatened, or hurt.
