LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A local man and another one from Pine Bluff are in jail facing a string of charges after being caught by police near the scene of vehicle break-ins at an apartment complex on N. University Avenue.
A Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) report says the break-ins happened around 4 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Summit House Apartments (400 N. University).
The suspects have been identified as Vincent Giggles, of Pine Bluff, and Cornelius Harris, 22, of Mabelvale.
Both are charged with multiple counts of Breaking and Entering, Theft of Property and Criminal Mischief. Police say a third suspect has not yet been identified.
The LRPD report states that when police arrived to investigate a reported auto break-in, they saw three men walking in the parking lot who ran when they spotted the patrol car. Police say one of them (Harris) tripped and was arrested near the parking lot. The second suspect (Giggles) was caught on nearby Father Tribou Drive.
Officers then checked the parking lot and found that four vehicles had been targeted. All of them appeared to have been entered through their driver’s side windows. Three of them had those windows busted out and were hanging by their window tint film. One of them had an anti-theft lock that was cut and a steering column that was cut in half.
The owner of another vehicle told police a coffee mug full of change was missing and a third victim reported a pocket knife was possible missing from their vehicle.
