LITTLE ROCK, AR – Seven Hall High students have been charged in a school fight.

It broke out shortly after 9 this morning in the school cafeteria.

During the incident, Larry Schleicher, 56, the school’s principal was hit in the stomach by a 15-year-old student, but was not injured. That student was charged with battery, disorderly conduct and inciting a riot before being released to the custody of his sister.

Police say an assistant principal was pushed around as the large crowd was ordered out of the cafeteria but he was not injured.

School security officers, coaches and administrators were called in to separate the students.

During the fight many other students had climbed up on tables and refused to get down and move out of the way, a police report noted.

One of the students was found to have a Little Rock Police Department warrant for a theft by receiving charge. Quincy Braxton, 18, was arrested and taken from the campus for questioning in that case.

After a second fight broke out as the crowd left the cafeteria, a school security officer who could not separate two students used pepper spray to break them up. That dispersed the crowd a second time.

A student later found in the school nurse’s office was arrested for trying to return to the fight.

The only other student identified by police is Laderrick Conley, 18, who was charged with disorderly conduct.

The incident reportedly began as a fight between Braxton and a 17-year-old male student and two other students joined in before a large crowd gathered around them. The 17-year-old told police that on Sunday, Braxton had pulled a gun on him and threatened to shoot him.

Braxton suffered a 3-inch cut on his forehead when he hit a table during the fight. He was charged with disorderly conduct and inciting a riot.

The other students were charged with either disorderly conduct and inciting a riot, or just disorderly conduct. Most were released to family members.

Another injured student had a small knot on his forehead with minor scratches on both hands and his right elbow, the report noted.

All students involved were placed on emergency removal from school.

A window in the cafeteria was broken due to the fight.
