MOUNTAIN VIEW, Ark.- A North Arkansas mother has been found guilty of First Degree Murder in the death of her 4-year-old daughter and received a sentence of 19 years in prison.

On Friday, a jury convicted Victoria Dycus in the death of Skylar Shellstrom.

In November 2016, Stone County deputies say they received a call from Dycus, saying the 4 year old was not breathing. She later died at a local hospital.

The night Shellstrom died, she was with Dycus and her boyfriend, James Glenn.

Shellstrom’s death certificate says she died of abuse.

Both Dycus and Glenn were arrested, and charged with First Degree Murder.

Glenn is awaiting his trial.
