Benton Man Accused of Drugging, Raping Juvenile Male

BENTON, AR — Police arrested a man accused of taking a juvenile boy to his house, then drugging and raping him.

According to the Benton Police Department (BPD), 32-year-old James Gilliams was arrested Friday after investigators seized evidence from his home after taking the report of a possible rape of a juvenile on Nov. 21.

BPD says the male juvenile victim told police Gilliams approached him near Tyndall Park and then took him to his house, where he provided him with drugs and then raped him.

Gilliams is charged with rape, introduction of a controlled substance into the body of another person, possession of Methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Police say the investigation is ongoing and additional charges could be forthcoming. 

Gilliam was given a $10,000 bond on these charges and is currently incarcerated in the Saline County Detention Facility.
