LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Other tobacco-related bills also made their way through the legislature today.
One would expand the list of Medicaid-covered medications to help end tobacco addiction.
Arkansas currently covers four of the seven FDA approved methods.
A House committee advanced the bill that would make sure the remaining three are covered and remove the prior authorization.
“We’re trying to create options for different patients, different doctors and make sure that there’s access. Every situation is going to be different depending on the doctor,” says St. Rep. Andrew Collins (D-Little Rock).
The same committee today voted down a bill that would have repealed the state’s indoor smoking ban at private businesses.
