Correcting a slice

News

A slice is caused by the rotation of the ball in an excessive clockwise direction, causing the ball to move to the right during its flight. A slice is usually caused by an outside-to-inside swing. Correcting a slice can be relatively simple. The source of the problem often lies in incomplete follow-through during the swing. Taking the club head back ‘low and slow’ and fully releasing for a complete follow-through can help eliminate slicing. To determine where your problem is, have a golf professional watch you practice and ask for some constructive feedback. You may also want to consider signing up for lessons at a local course. For more information on correcting a slice, contact a golf course or golf professional in your area.
