Union County Clerk, Shannon Phillips, tells us normally they get 100 voters a day, but so far they have gotten 100 within the first couple of hours.
Phillips says the voter ID law changes haven’t had a negative affect on voting.
She says voters like showing their ID anyway, and it speeds up the process.
“A lot of people don’t like for you to ask their date of birth, and their address. So, by having that information, and being able to match it in the system, without verbally questioning them in front of a crowd of people, they like it. So we haven’t had any problems,” says Shannon Phillips, Union County Clerk.
