Family Prays For Justice After Loved One Was Shot and Killed


PINE BLUFF, Ark.-A Pine Bluff family is grieving one year after their loved one was shot and killed. 

“The people that took my brothers life don’t realize that they took more than his life. They took from me personally and my family and they can never replace that,” said Fluker.

The murder of John Stepps is still unsolved.

Stepps sister Frances Fluker said the past year has been extremely devastating for their family. She said John was well known in the community and it hasn’t been the same without him.

“It’s unimaginable I wouldn’t wish this on anybody or family members,” Fluker said.

Stepps was found shot outside his car on North Hickory Drive on November 30, 2107. His sister said he was left to die.

“Losing my big brother…little brother to such a senseless, coward act just shoot him down like he was animal right here,” Fluker said.

Fast forward a year later and Stepps murder is still unsolved. The family placed a cross and flowers where his body wad found.

“I’m hurt I have been distraught, no body would ever know what I’ve been through this past year. Being without my brother this has happened to my family it has torn my world apart,” Fluker said.

Stepps was a person who had a big heart and someone who loved animals.

“He gave so much of himself to so many people. He did so many wonderful things for people in this community in this town. He was caring he was loving, he was giving,” Fluker said.

As the family continues to mourn they just want someone to come forward.

“I’m pleaing to the public, to the community to the town he didn’t deserve this,” Fluker said.

The family is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading up to an arrest and conviction.
