FAULKNER COUNTY, Ark. – A local sheriff’s office has updated the way it keeps the community informed about sex offenders.

The Faulkner County Sheriffs Office now relies on push alerts, their website, and social media posts to alert the public about sex offenders in their area.

For years deputies would go do to door with flyers every time a new offender moved into the county.

In the past week F.C.S.O has alerted the public to Luke Mills and Robert Jarrett. Two sex offenders that recently moved to the Mayflower area.

“It’s important for people to know that down the road could be some they need to know about and you may not know other wise. You can go on our website like I said and there is a map that will show you everyone in the county if you are concerned about where you are. It’s just a good way to protect themselves,” said Deputy Erin Stone with the Faulkner County Sheriffs Office.

Deputy Stone also encourages the public to go to their website to sign up for push alerts to stay informed.
