GREENLAND, Ark. – A Fayetteville man is jailed in the investigation of a child rape.

The Greenland Police Department (GPD) says Philip Wallace, 35, is charged with Rape, Sexual Indecency with a Minor and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.

Wallace was arrested on Sept. 8, one day after the Fayetteville Police Department (FPD) contacted the GPD about a possible rape. The alleged victim is described by police as under the age of 5.

According to a GPD news release issued Wednesday, a witness was interviewed at the FPD, after which officers with both agencies went to a location the news release called the “crime scene.”

Wallace was arrested after being taken in for an interview.

The GPD says the investigation is continuing due to the potential of other victims.

State Police Crimes against Children and DHS are also involved in the case.
