FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — A prostitution sting has sent 14 people to jail in Fayetteville.

The Fayetteville Police Department says the suspects are all from Arkansas or Missouri.

According to the police report, the sting operation took place over the course of two nights. The first round of arrests happened on Friday and the second on Saturday.

Police say undercover officers contacted the alleged escorts on Backpage.com and through text messages.

The arrests occurred at a hotel in the area of 49 South and MLK Boulevard. Due to the fact that the investigation is ongoing, the name of that hotel is not being released.

According to the report, a gun and marijuana were also confiscated in the sting.
