LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- People living near Wright Avenue got a first look at what the city would like to do to upgrade the area.
Construction is about two blocks on Wright Avenue, near Summit.
Crews want to update lighting in the area, create safer pedestrian walkways and crosswalks.
The designer wants to add trees as well.
She says it’s about establishing character.
“I think it’s very important,” says Salley Horsey, Senior Landscape Architect. “It’s something they’ve wanted for many years, probably as far back as five or six years they’ve been asking for this.”
The project could cost about $500,000.
Voters passed a bond about 10 years ago that will pay for the upgrades.
Construction could start by mid-summer.
