Garland Co. Woman Dies in Head-on Collision

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A Garland County woman has died in a head-on collision.

The Arkansas State Police (ASP) says the accident happened shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. Hwy. 70 West near Pearcy.

The victim has been identified as Teresa M. Yates, 49, of Royal.

The ASP preliminary accident report states that Yates was driving a 2009 Toyota headed west when she lost control and crossed the center line. Her vehicle collided with a 2005 Dodge headed east.

The driver and a passenger in the Dodge, both of Royal, were injured in the collision. There’s no further word on their conditions.

Troopers say Yates was pronounced dead at the scene.
