HARRISON, Ark. – A local restaurant owner has turned himself in amid a financial identify fraud investigation.
The Harrison Police Department (HPD) issued an arrest warrant for Donald Alexander, 67, a.k.a Charles Smith, about two weeks ago. On Monday morning, he walked into the HPD headquarters.
The owner of the Hot Dog Shoppe is charged with five counts of financial identity fraud-that accuse him of using various aliases to open bank and other financial accounts.
“There’s nothing I ever did wrong. So I’m not worried about it. Guilty people don’t turn themselves in,” he said.
Back in April, police seized hidden cameras, computers and hard drives from the Hot Dog Shoppe.
The police chief says the Department of Homeland Security is looking through those videos.
Authorities reportedly plan to file additional charges against Alexander.
