Fighting Fancy, of Little Rock, is the 2015 Josetta Wilkins Awards Organization honoree. Fighting Fancy originated due to the efforts of breast cancer survivor, Heather Owens. Advocacy for the importance of early detection is personal, as Heather was diagnosed with breast cancer at the early age of 28. Her experience with chemotherapy sparked a passion for helping others going through the same process. Fighting Fancy provides care bags to cancer patients with items to help them through the chemo process and let them know they’re not. Heather takes the time to write a personal message on behalf of Fighting Fancy for each one of these care bag recipients, sharing her story with them.
