Huckabee Talks Primary, Milligan During Fundraising Stop

LITTLE ROCK, AR — Former Governor Mike Huckabee made a fundraising stop in Little Rock Wednesday.  It’s part of a three-day tour across the state.

During a brief afternoon press conference, Huckabee insisted against speaking about controversial comments he made about transgender Americans.
He instead focused on economic issues.  He also expressed his support for the Arkansas legislature’s recent vote to move up the 2016 primary elections to March.

“Arkansas and the other southern states which are critical to the election of a Republican president, it makes them real players in the primary process,” he said.

Huckabee weighed in on controversies surrounding state treasurer Dennis Milligan, saying despite what he calls minor issues, Milligan has been doing a good job running the state’s finances.

Governor Huckabee’s fundraising trip through Arkansas still has a couple more stops.  He’s scheduled to be in El Dorado Thursday and Texarkana on Friday.
