LR Woman Pleads Not Guilty in Child’s Accidental Shooting Death

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A local woman has pleaded not guilty to manslaughter in the accidental shooting death of her six-year-old nephew.

Kenya Brevard, 38, also pleaded not guilty to a felony firearms possession charge in Little Rock District Court.

Her bond was set at $10,000.

Family members in the courtroom for the woman’s arraignment told us that Brevard “loved her nephew very, very much.” They also say the gun wasn’t Brevard’s and she didn’t know it was in the car where the shooting took place.

Brevard was arrested Wednesday after a boy identified by family as Eron Jones, 6, suffered a gunshot inside a car parked on Lamar Street.
