Different Maumelle neighborhoods are peppered with those signs that make it clear: kids are everywhere.
“Between my wife and I, we have six kids and most of them have been raised in this house,” Denver Griffin says.
Denver Griffin has called an area near Ozark Drive home for almost 20 years.
Evidence of kids playing is hard to miss, but one neighbor’s arrest sure seemed to fly under the radar.
“I didn’t know anything about it,” Griffin says.
Police arrested 48-year-old Jeff Carlton early Thursday morning at his home along Oak Drive.
According to an arrest report, investigators found more than 200 photos and 20 videos of child pornography on a computer in Carlton’s home.
“Man, it just makes you think, I mean you never know,” Griffin says after learning the news.
MEMS in Little Rock confirmed Carlton works there as an EMT.
Carlton has been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation, according to the Executive Director.
Sources say he once worked as a volunteer firefighter at the Oak Grove station in Pulaski County.
“I really think it just saddens the situation,” Griffin adds.
“Just makes you want to second-guess everything.”
Jeff Carlton faces more than 200 counts of possession of child pornography. He is expected to appear before a judge on Friday for an arraignment.
