FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) – A body found after a house fire in Washington County earlier this week has been identified, authorities say. 

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says the body found was that of Andrew McClarrinon, 45, owner of the home at 17886 Clear Water Rd. just outside Fayetteville where the fire took place.

Deputies said Ashley Smith, 25, of Fayetteville was hospitalized after the fire.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ark. (KNWA) – A body has been found at the scene of a house fire that left a second person injured early Monday near Tontitown.

Fire crews from Tontitown, Wheeler and Wedington responded to the 2:30 a.m. call.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) says detectives are investigating it as a crime scene. 

Wheeler Fire Chief Michael Oxford said there was a woman inside the home at the time of the fire. She has been hospitalized and there’s no further word on her condition.

According to the fire chief, the flames were difficult to contain due to the home being located 1,000 feet up a hill. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the WCSO.
