KINSETT, Ark.-Instead of having a party and getting gifts. A 9-year-old girl in Searcy decided to raise money and give it to local organization for her birthday!

Audra Headley raised over $5,000 for DOTS.

It stands for Daughters On The Other Side. The group helps people battling addiction get back on their feet.

Audra says she grew a connection with the organization and saw what many of the woman had to deal with.

As she was planning her birthday this year, she told her parents she had enough toys and wanted to help the DOTS.

It was a celebration at the Whitney Lane Family Worship Center in Kensett.

Little Audra celebrated her birthday with the DOTS.

We are a home for women with addiction, Sharon Hughes said.

Whenever I help people out it makes me feel like a good person, Headley.

Instead of getting gifts Audra wanted to raise money for the organization.

I heard it was woman who are being restored with Jesus and their families, Headley said.

With the help of Audra’s parents she started a GoFundMe page earlier in March. She also got a job.

I waited tables at the Silver Dollar Grill, Headley said.

She raised over $5,300 dollars.

She had a goal In mind, and she succeeded it, Amy Headley said.

She presented a check to the organization Sunday.

She has the capacity of understanding that she has for broken women, Hughes said.

Headley says she may be young, but she enjoys making a difference.

She simply has a child like faith, an innocent heart, and she pours that love out on our girls, Hughes said.

I like doing that it makes me happy as well, Headley said.

Audra says she wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up and encourages people to dream big!
