LITTLE ROCK,Ark.–After bruising races for the states Supreme Court, some are calling for change in the way Arkansas selects its highest court.

Attack ads flooded the airwaves in the days and weeks leading up to election day, funded by mysterious out of state groups.

Legislation has already been drafted to allow voters to decide whether Supreme Court Justices should be appointed rather than elected.

“Assuming that it’s in the right form and a concept I can support I would be supporting that kind of change,” Governor Asa Hutchinson said.

The Governor says the change will be considered during the 2017 legislative session.
