Conway Police investigating shooting at West Haven Trailer Park

CONWAY, Ark. — The Conway Police are investigating a shooting at the West Haven Trailer Park. Police say a woman was shot and taken to the hospital.

At this hour the shooting is still on the run. We talked with people in the neighborhood today and they’re definitely feeling a little worried tonight.

We were told the shooting happened at an intersection. Police say a woman was found in a car, shot multiple times. With no one in custody, yet many in the neighborhood are scared the shooter could come back.

“Never, I’ve never seen this happen in my eyes,” said Brittany Presnull a neighbor.

A typically quiet community now left feeling a little uneasy after these once empty streets filled with lights and sirens.

“We just heard like 12 gunshots,” said Brittany.

Brittany said “It just looked really bad.”

The woman was found shot in a car just after 4 p.m.

“She was kind of alert, but she couldn’t really tell them exactly what happened,” said Public Information Officer LaTresha Woodruff.

From there police say she was taken to the hospital.

“It did not appear to be life threatening when she left, however it was pretty serious,” said Woodruff.

Officers are now working to find out how this all went down.

“We believe it was some kind of a drive by,” said Woodruff.

For Presnull it’s still hard to wrap her mind around what she saw.

“I just don’t think it happens, not over here in this neighborhood,” said Presnull.

Now she’s just hoping this is the first and last time she’ll see a shooting right next to her home.

“I don’t feel like it’s just done,” said Presnull.

Still no arrests have been made.

Conway Police say they are talking with neighbors and witnesses. They urge anyone who has any information to contact the Conway Police Department.
