Facebook Live Captures Little Rock Fight, Shots Fired

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A 10-minute Facebook Live video has captured a brutal fight in the parking lot of a Little Rock gas station.

At about three minutes into the Sunday evening video, you can hear someone say that there’s a gun.

Little Rock Police say live broadcasts like this are their worst fears.

“Continuing to see that trend that we don’t want to see of young people being involved in stuff,” says Lt. Steven McClanahan.

About three minutes and 20 seconds into the video, the phone drops and moments later the first gunshot is heard.

We couldn’t find a crime scene at that location,” says Lt. McClanahan.

The fight allegedly happened at the Shell Gas Station in the 5100 block of Asher just after 9 p.m. Sunday.

One person was pistol-whipped and another, who thought he was shot in the back, was grazed by a bullet.

The two men, 22 and 17, were able to drive to UAMS for help.

“Oh, Jesus, I got shot in ******* back, bro,” says one of the men.

Moments later, more shots are fired.

“My head will not stop bleeding,” says the 17-year-old.

Little Rock Police investigators are now using the video as a tool to investigate.

“From identifying suspects and people to interviewing witnesses. There’s a double-edged sword to it. There’s pros and cons,” says Lt. McClanahan.

Police have not yet made any arrests.

If you know anything about what happened, you’re asked to call the Little Rock Police Department.
