On December 23, 2019, Lt. Brad Roberts responded to a domestic disturbance in Muldrow. Upon arrival, he spoke with a 40 year old female who stated her boyfriend, Joe Christian, and her were having an argument when he became angry, stabbed her in the hand, and then turned and stabbed her dog. He then fled in her car. A warrant was obtained on December 26th for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Felony cruelty to animals, and terroristic threatening. Several attempts were made by Oklahoma City PD and Fort Smith And Van Buren PD to find and arrest him. He made several recorded statements that he was not going to jail. This morning, Officer Danny Stanley with Fort Smith made a vehicle stop and made contact with the parties in the car. The female identified herself but Christian gave a fake name. Stanley knew him and knew that we had active warrants. The female driver stated that he put a knife to her throat and told her to go. Stanley chased the vehicle to Tilles Park on Grand Avenue where it pulled in and Christian fled the vehicle while it was still moving. Christian is in custody pending the charges from Fort Smith, Van Buren, and his parole warrant along with the charges from Oklahoma. Great job guys!
