Guests welcomed with tourism rally at Clinton National Airport

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Passengers who touched down at Clinton National Airport were treated to some southern hospitality today.

It’s not a school pep rally but more of a celebration.

This week is National Travel and Tourism Week.

A band from Mabelvale Elementary greeted guests who were then given free Loblolly ice cream.

The airport even set up a petting zoo with its more than two dozen service dogs.

“Simply telling visitors thank you for coming. They make a tremendous economic impact in Arkansas’s capital city every year,” says Gretchen Hall.

Arkansas tourism accounts for an estimated $650 million in state and local tax revenue.
