Update: Victim identified in Friday night Shackleford Road shooting

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — On June 5, 2020, at 7:22 p.m., the Little Rock Police Department responded to a shooting that had occurred at 1500 N. Shackleford Road. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle had left the roadway and hit parked vehicles at a nearby dealership. Officer also found that the two occupants of the vehicle were suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The driver of the vehicle, Tyler Terrell, 18 was taken to Baptist Hospital and later succumbed to his injuries. The other occupant, Zaytron Waits, 19 was taken to St. Vincents Hospital to be treated for a gunshot to his shoulder.

Homicide Detectives and the Crime Scene Search Unit responded to the scene and began a canvass of the area. Officers and Detectives also learned that McLarty Volvo car dealership building was struck by gunfire. Several bullet casings were located in the roadway on N. Shackleford. This evidence was collected from the scene and pending further evaluation by the Crime Scene Search Unit. The vehicle at the scene was sent to the Crime Scene Bay to be further evaluated by detectives and Crime Scene Technicians.

Mr. Terrell’s body was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy to be performed. This investigation is ongoing and the next of kin has been notified. This Homicide occurred
in Little Rock’s Northwest Division.


LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The victim in the homicide has been identified as 18-year-old Tyler Terrell.

A 19-year-old man was shot in the shoulder.

There are no reports of arrests in this case.


LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Police say they responded to a call about a weapon which turned into a shooting around 7 p.m. in Little Rock.

When they arrived they say they found a car with two men inside, one had died, the other with serious injuries.
