Independence County taking on economic impact

INDEPENDENCE COUNTY, Ark. — COVID-19 is beginning to have an economic impact on different levels of government.

Fox 16 news has learned that Independence County Judge Robert Griffin is considering a payroll reduction.

He has already laid off nearly two dozen workers in the juvenile success center.

Also, County Sheriff Shawn Stephens is looking to furlough some employees in that department too.
