BOONE COUNTY, Ark. - A local man is jailed on $100,000 bond after being accused of Internet Stalking of a Child.
The Boone County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) says it investigated a Feb. 6 report that Steven William Bell, 58, of Harmon, had made contact on Facebook with several girls who are minors.
The BCSO says that in one incident, Bell had a conversation on Facebook Messenger with a female that he believed to be 13 years old. Bell allegedly began speaking sexually to the girl and sent an explicit picture via Facebook Messenger.
Investigators tracked down Bell and booked him into the Boone County Jail. In addition to the Stalking charge, he faces charges of: tampering with physical evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In a news release announcing Bell's arrest, Boone County Sheriff Mike Moore said he encourages parents of minor children to be alert of their activities on all social media as sexual predators use these types of tools to stalk children.
