Little Rock native and retired NFL tight end Keith Jackson shares his optimistic thoguhts about the hiring of Eric Musselman as the new head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks men’s basketball team.”
“Of course we’re excited. You know, you hate to see Mike [Anderson]. I was a friend of Mike’s. I like Mike, and we wanted Mike to stay around a long time. But, when you have to make decisions to let coaches go, you want to make sure you get a good one in,” Jackson says.
Jackson attended the Pine Bluff Razorback Club dinner Monday night at the Pine Bluff Country Club. Football coach Chad Morris was also in attendance, but all the talk was about Musselman and the new-look basketball program.
“When you look at the job [Musselman] has done in Nevada, it’s been incredible,” Jackson says.
The way his teams have been ranked, his ability to recruit toward a small area, which Nevada is in, and to see him come to Fayetteville and hopefully he can do the same thing. I think it’s going to be exciting for Razorback fans and his style of play, I think [fans] are going to like it.”
Jackson played football at Parkview High School in Little Rock then went on to play for the University of Oklahoma and three teams in the NFL (Eagles, Dolphins and Packers).
