LITTLE ROCK, Ar. —- A Little Rock mother is asking anyone who may know something about her son’s death to come forward.
Tavorrye Whitaker-Lemons was killed back in April 2020.
Little Rock police said there are still no arrests or in this case, but the victim’s mother said she’s going to share her son’s story in hopes of answers.
“As a mom, I want to know what happened to my son, and who did this to my son,” mother, Shantea Whitaker said.
Whitaker said she just wants the person who killed her son behind bars.
Police said they found Whitaker-Lemons shot multiple times outside a house on Romine Street in Little Rock April 29, 2020.
Even community members said they remember that day.
“It’s always sad when you see young people resorting to violence to address issues that they’re dealing with you don’t have to use a gun,” a woman who lives in the area, Deborah Springer-Suttlar said.
Whitaker-Lemons is remembered as a boxer and father who loved his family.
“I put him in boxing and that’s what he did prior to coming back to Arkansas,” Whitaker said.
His mother said at one point he was boxing at Floyd Mayweather’s boxing club.
Now Whitaker said his 3-year-old daughter is starting to ask more questions.
“Who did this to my dad-dad? Why they do it to my dad-dad,” Whitaker said. “I love my dad-dad. I want dad da back.”
As time passes by, it gets harder for her family.
“I miss him,” Whitaker said. “And she misses him. He was very outspoken, very giving and loving person and he made friends with a lot of people”
Whitaker said she won’t give up on finding answers.
“Closure is the only thing that I want for my family, it will be … a lot easier,” Whitaker said.
