LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Little Rock Fire Department unveiled two new additions to their fleet this morning.
The EMS response vehicles are being added to address increasing medical calls taken by the department which make up over 62 percent of their service calls.
The stations taking advantage of these new units will be evaluating their performance over the next six months to determine their effectiveness.
“Our primary goal is related to firefighter safety, excellent service to the community, and cost savings that deals with repairs and fuel economy,” says Delphone Hubbard.
If the pilot program is successful, LRFD plans to add two new additional EMS response vehicles, one for each quarter of the city.
