LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A Little Rock mother says a gang shot at her teenage son walking down the road.
Talitha Humphrey says she’s nervous every time her 14-year-old son leaves their home.
“Everyday is a struggle. Every time he walks out my door and leaves, I worry about my son,” says Humphrey.
Humphrey says her son was shot at by a gang near West 24th Street Friday because they don’t like who her son hangs out with.
“People judge you by who you’re with, who you can and cannot hang with. Everybody has a choice to who they want to be with,” says Humphrey.
She says her son ran to a shed for cover, which is where officers found him.
Humphrey says that gunfire intended for her son, something Little Rock Police couldn’t confirm, hit a home in the 1600 block of West 24th Street.
Police say several homes and cars have been shot up since Friday.
In a shooting Monday morning, Tiffany Howard’s home and car were shot on Pinewood Loop.
“It went pow, pow, pow,” says Howard.
Officers returned Monday afternoon after Howard found more shell casings.
“Shots coming through your house, I didn’t know… do I stand here or do I run? I ran behind my husband. We ran to the back,” says Howard.
Humphrey says she’s concerned her 14-year-old son could be shot.
Humphrey says she’ll keep an eye over her son and pray for his safety.
“He shouldn’t have to look over his shoulder walking down the street,” says Humphrey.
If you know anything about any of the shootings, you are asked to call Little Rock Police.
