NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – North Little Rock High School is now equipped with trauma kits, thanks to the Stop the Bleed program.
North Little Rock Police presented the kits to the school after faculty, staff, and students fulfilled requirements following training earlier this year.
The training taught them how to save others and what actions to take to avoid injury or death.
“Due to all the unfortunate incidents we’ve had in our schools. We believe it was very important to provide this course, so that teachers could be prepared, that the students could feel safe, and they would have some direction during a course…an event such as this,” says Sgt. Amy Cooper, NLRPD.
Bt the end of the year, 14 kits will be presented to different schools. The kits include: tourniquets, gauze, and other basic life support tools.
The Arkansas Department of health is funding the program.
