NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- North Little Rock Police are asking people to be alert after reports of multiple reports of a man driving a car and approaching children.

North Little Rock Police say on Sunday, they received reports of a man driving a dark-colored, possibly gray Toyota Prius with a logo on the front driver side door and four red numbers on the passenger side, driving slowly in the area of War Eagle and Pontiac, as well as Bel Air.

Police say the driver reportedly stopped in the area of War Eagle and Pontiac and asked a young girl if she wanted a ride. Police say after the girl refused, the driver left.

After the first report was filed, officials say they learned a similar situation happened shortly before on Bel Air. Police say a small child was playing outside. An adult saw the vehicle and went outside, then the car left, according to authorities. Police say they do not know if the driver spoke to the small child in this case.

In both cases, police say the driver did not get out of the car and has spoken to at least one child.

North Little Rock Police ask parents to talk with their children about what actions to take when being confronted by a stranger.

Officials also say they will be increasing patrols in the neighborhoods in and around where the suspicious activity has occurred.

If you have any information about this suspicious activity or other similar reports of this nature, please contact the North Little Rock Police Department at (501) 758-1234 or the NLRPD TipLine at (501) 680-8439. Those with information can remain anonymous.
