LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – In an Instagram post Wednesday, North Little Rock Police Department (NLRPD) officer Tommy Norman announced he will no longer be posting to his personal social media accounts while at work.
Officer Norman, who has more than 1 million followers on Instagram, is a well-known public figure, recognized for his service to and efforts in the community he serves.
He is known for his many acts of kindness, which often gain much traction when shared to social media.
However, Norman announced he was told by his superiors within the department that he could no longer make such posts while on duty. He explained that the department was simply following a pre-established policy and, though disappointed, he will respect their wishes.
In the post embedded below, Officer Norman says he will still continue his mission of service and he asks to not be identified by his badge, but his heart.
