UPDATE:

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Early Thursday morning, officers with the Little Rock Police department responded to a house in reference to a shooting that had just occurred.

Someone in that area told police they reported hearing approximately 40 shots in the area.

Shortly after that call a girl called and told police she had been shot in the head.

Officers went to the location where the girl was and learned that two juvenile girls had both been shot.

Police saw the first girl who had four gunshots to her lower back and one gunshot on her upper right arm. Police learned that the second girl was bleeding from the left side of her head and above the ear.

Both of the girls were able to speak with officers.

The girls told police they were in the living room inside the home with a friend.

All three victims told police when they heard shots coming from the back door, they could not clearly see the suspect, but did see a black male running north on Sheraton Drive.

Police say as they were talking with the victims, 2 men and a juvenile walked towards the scene and police told them to step back until officers could speak with them due to each of them telling police they were not inside the house at the time of the shooting.

Instead of waiting they all got inside a car and attempted to flee the scene. Officers then detained them while the investigation was being conducted.

Officers saw multiple shots to the back door and the front of the house as well. Multiple shell casings were in the street.

Officers set up a perimeter and secured the area until crime units were able to process the scene.

Both girls who were shot were taken to by MEMS to Children’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The two men and juveniles who attempted to flee the scene were taken to 12th Street for questioning.

This case is currently still under investigation.
