Saline County Cashier After Robbery: ‘It was just a crazy experience’

Local News

SALINE COUNTY, Ark. – Corner stores are usually where conversation and transactions meet.

But, Sunday at Mom’s Grocery in Saline county, surveillance video shows words were few and payment was questionable.

Footage shows an unarmed suspect pretend to pay for something before swiping cash when the cash register opens, saying: “Give me all this s***.”

He ran out before anyone could do anything.

“You never know who’s going to come in here,” Stormie King says.

King was the one behind the counter when it happened.

“I thought he might have a gun on him so I just backed up,” King says.

King and customers behind the suspect stand frozen in fear. King’s mom is also an employee at the store.

King can be heard shouting in the surveillance video as the suspect runs out: “Mom, call the police somebody please!”

“It’s a very good camera, and you can see instantly,” Hussein Jivini says.

Jivini owns the store.

He says several of the nearly 20 cameras on the property got good looks at the suspect.

“It’s the first time it ever happened to me so I was a little shocked too you know,” Jivini says.

It was a robbery on the go that already has plenty of people talking.

“It was just a crazy experience,” King says.

“I don’t want to have to do it again.”

Jivini says the suspect got away with about $300.

If you recognize the suspect in the video, call the Saline County Sheriff’s Office.
