LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The players involved in this year’s Salt Bowl, where a security scare forced the early cancellation of the game, will receive free tickets to this weekend’s Arkansas Razorback game at War Memorial Stadium.

At today’s Touchdown Club luncheon, it was announced 300 tickets will be distributed to players for both Bryant and Benton.

“War Memorial Stadium wanted to do something for the players after the Salt Bowl incident,” said Kevin Crass, a senior partner at Friday, Eldredge & Clark.

The tickets were purchased by the War Memorial Stadium Improvement Trust.

This year’s Salt Bowl on August 25 set a high school football attendance record in Arkansas.

A loud noise sparked a shooting scare that sent people running from the stands and players fleeing the field.  It turned out no shots were fired in the incident.
