LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- Court officials have issued an arrest warrant for Arkansas State Hospital psychologist Michelle Messer.
Messer faces a Class A Misdemeanor for aiding an unauthorized departure, according to court documents.
The warrant was filed by the Pulaski County Circuit Court on Tuesday.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – New information has been released by law enforcement in regards to the search of an Arkansas State Hospital (ASH) employee and a patient that left the hospital without authorization on Tuesday.
The statewide “Be on the Lookout” (BOLO) has been issued according to law enforcement. Law enforcement sources say the patient, Cory Chapin is very dangerous.
Officials say the ASH employee is psychologist Michelle Messer. Law enforcement says she is driving a blue Mazda 3S Grand Touring with a Arkansas license plate number 502RBD. Officials say she lives in Sherwood.
Authorities say Arkansas State Hospital forensic patient Cory Chapin, 46, allegedly left the hospital with Messer.
Chapin appears to have a previous kidnapping charge in 2014, and ordered to ASH, according to court documents.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Arkansas Department of Human Services is currently working with law enforcement to locate an Arkansas State Hospital staff member and forensic hospital patient who left the facility without authorization Tuesday.
The statewide “Be on the Lookout” (BOLO) has been upgraded to a kidnapping, according to law enforcement. Law enforcement sources say the patient is supposedly dangerous.
The hospital employee’s actions were captured on surveillance footage. It appears the staff member used their access to the Arkansas State Hospital forensic unit to reach a patient, walk the patient out of the facility, and drive off with the patient in the staff member’s personal vehicle at approximately 8:20 a.m.
Law enforcement in the employee’s and patient’s hometowns have been notified. Agency staff are also coordinating and requesting other available assistance from law enforcement as appropriate to locate these individuals.
