LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Some street repair work around the State Capitol is impacting both parking and traffic.
The street resurfacing project around the State Capitol building and the Capitol Mall area is being done by the Arkansas Secretary of State, in partnership with the Arkansas Department of Transportation.
According to a news release issued Monday, the project will be done in several phases over the next few weeks.
The first phase of the project started Monday with resurfacing work on Woodlane Avenue. Woodlane Ave. will be closed from 7th St. to the Little Rock Nine Monument through Thursday (May 16).
No parking will be allowed on Woodlane during the next three days as crews work in the area.
Traffic will also be re-routed away from the construction.
Since there are many legislative meetings scheduled for this week, State Capitol visitors are asked not to use parking spots marked “Reserved for Legislative Parking” unless you are a legislator.
State Capitol Police will be monitoring the project and enforcing the parking policy.
