HOT SPRING COUNTY, Ark. – One set of wheels on a sleeping car of the southbound Amtrak passenger train derailed on Tuesday while the train was passing through Hot Spring County, forcing the train to stop.
An Amtrak spokesman told Fox16 the car would be disconnected from the train and the rest of it would continue, with sleeping car passengers moved to other cars.
Officials called the incident “minor” and said there were no injuries. The train still had power and was serving meals.
