Update: Arrest in March West Memphis homicide

Update:
WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. – An arrest has been made in a March murder.

The West Memphis Police Department says Marcello Banks, 27, was taken into custody early Tuesday morning in the shooting death of Basha Thomas, 24.

Banks is charged with Murder 1st Degree.

He was arrested in Memphis by the U.S. Marshals East Arkansas Fugitive Task Force and will soon be extradited to Crittenden County.

WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. – One man is dead after a shooting in West Memphis.

The victim has been identified as Basha Thomas, 24.

In a facebook post, the West Memphis Police Department says Thomas was sitting in his car at 2950 East Jackson St. around 6 a.m. Sunday when he was shot. Thomas died at the scene.

So far no arrests have been made.
