CROSS COUNTY, Ark. – Authorities from Wynne, Cross County and Saint Francis County arrested two wanted men overnight after a nearly 24-hour search.
A deputy spotted Greg Farmer off a county road around midnight.
A perimeter search in the woods led to the arrest of Farmer and Austin Dooley.
Two people were also arrested Monday morning for helping the men escape.
Stephanie Henderson and Carl Ellis are now behind bars and face several charges.
Cross County Sheriff Mark West says he expects more arrests to come in the case.
According to KAIT Region 8 News, Farmer pleaded guilty to a probation revocation from a September 2016 conviction in Poinsett County.
Judge Pam Honeycutt sentenced Farmer to 15 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections for not following the terms and conditions of the suspended imposition of sentence he received in September of 2016. Read more here.
CROSS COUNTY, Ark. – Authorities are searching for two escaped inmates, Gregory Farmer and Austin Dooley. The Cross County Sheriff’s Office says they escaped early Monday morning.
The two inmates were assisted by an outside source.
Dooley and Farmer were in jail for felony offenses and should be considered dangerous.
During the investigation and with the help of Wynne Police Department, Carl Ellis and Stephanie Henderson were arrested in connection to the inmates’ escape. Both have been charged with second-degree escape, hindering apprehension, impairing a vital public facility.
Multiple agencies are working to capture Farmer and Dooley and return them to custody.
Authorities say more arrests are expected in connection to the case.
