LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The car stolen in Monday’s car-jacking/homicide in Little Rock was found in North Little Rock Wednesday. The suspect is still on the loose.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Police are still looking for the suspect who shot and killed a man Monday night and stole his car in a neighborhood between Interstate 30 and Baseline Road.
The Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) has identified the victim as Israel Balvino Choxon, 24, of Little Rock.
Police say Choxon was found lying on the ground in front of a Stanton Road home shortly after 9:30.
Witnesses told police they saw the victim struggling with an unknown black male inside the vehicle that was parked in front of the home. They told officers the suspect then shot the victim and left in the victim’s vehicle, a mid 2000’s model brown Nissan Maxima (license plate number: 141 VCW), and went north on Stanton Road.
The LRPD is calling the incident a random attack and says a language barrier is making the investigation difficult.
Neymi Bonilla is the only one in her house who speaks English, forcing her to make a call no eight-year-old should have to make.
“I call the police and he says is he breathing and I say no. Is he moving? No,” the girl explains about the 911 call she made Monday night.
She says the victim was her sister’s ex-boyfriend, who had dropped things off for her sister’s baby, his daughter Ashley.
“It is concerning and yeah it is a random crime. We are treating it like that,” says LRPD Lt. Steve McClanahan.
Detectives hope finding the victim’s stolen car will mean finding DNA that leads to the suspect.
It’s especially important since the language barrier between witnesses and officers is slowing down the investigation.
“We’re trying to bridge that gap and build trust with the Hispanic community,” Lt. McClanahan explains.
Neymi has strong words for the man responsible for the killing.
“When you mess with my family, you will go to jail,” she says.
Police are looking for the vehicle described as a tan or light brown Nissan Maxima with possible damage to the right rear door and fender.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The victim of a Monday night shooting on the south side of town has died, making this the second homicide in Little Rock today, and the city’s 23rd of the year.
Police say the shooting happened in the 8300 block of Stanton Road.
When police arrived, the victim had been shot in the torso and was in critical condition. Police say he was shot around 9:30 p.m. and passed away around 10:15 p.m. The victim is described as a Hispanic man in his mid-20s, who is believed to be the victim of a carjacking robbery.
Police describe the suspect in this carjacking/robbery/shooting as a black male, around 5’10” tall, in his mid-20s, and wearing a white t-shirt. The shirt was reportedly covering the suspect’s face at the time. The car he drove away in is described as a brown, Nissan Maxima, around the years 2004-2007, with an Arkansas license plate.
Because the victim was Hispanic, Lt. Steven McClanahan said the situation is “sketchy, with the language barrier.” He said they are trying to use their resources to communicate with his friends and family.
