Update: Vilonia Man Killed in I-30 Crash

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A Vilonia man has died in a traffic accident on Interstate 30.

It happened around 10 a.m. Monday in the eastbound lanes near the split with Interstate 40 in North Little Rock.

According to the Arkansas State Police (ASP) preliminary accident report, the driver of a 1999 Chevrolet S-10 pickup headed east was killed in the crash. He has been identified as Austin Patterson, 20.

The ASP report states that the Chevrolet was struck by a 2008 Dodge truck headed west that went off the interstate to the left and struck the guardrail before going airborne and flipping over into the eastbound lanes. A 2005 Nissan Altima also headed east then struck the Dodge.

The accident report notes it was raining and the road was wet at the time of the accident.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A Monday morning accident has backed up traffic in both directions along a stretch of Interstate 30.

The Arkansas State Police says it happened in the eastbound lanes in North Little Rock just before the split into Interstate 40 and the JFK Blvd. exit.

A check of Arkansas Department of Transportation live traffic cams shows traffic at a standstill back to Interstate 630.

There's no word yet on how many vehicles were involved in the accident or the extent of any injuries.
