LINCOLN, AR (KNWA) – 40-year-old Kevin Cain was arrested for negligent homicide Thursday after a Wednesday night accident killed a Lincoln woman.

Just before 10:45 p.m., Arkansas State Police say 34-year-old Danielle Bishop was killed after the truck Cain was driving veered off Highway 59, just North of the Crawford County line. Cain then over-corrected and the truck traveled across both lanes of the highway before it crashed into a ditch.

The truck caught fire and Bishop was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say because of the condition of the burned truck, it is hard to tell if either passenger was wearing a seat belt.

When police arrived on the scene, they say Cain was slurring his words and had a hard time standing on his feet. His alcohol levels were tested, but results came back at .00. Cain later admitted to taking Hydrocodone and Klonopin.

Cain was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center Wednesday night, but was released and booked into the Washington County Jail Thursday morning.

He’s facing charges of negligent homicide, reckless driving, and driving on a suspended license. He was released from Washington County jail just after 9 a.m.
